Hear Her Inspiring Story of Survival and Recovery

Maggie was a housewife, mom and registered nurse, when life changed forever for her on a sunny Labor Day weekend several years ago.  Her estranged husband confronted Maggie in her home, and without warning, shot her seven times before fatally shooting himself.   Miraculously, Maggie survived the shooting.  Bleeding and partially paralyzed, Maggie crawled down the steps and waited 40 minutes for an emergency medical helicopter to arrive. Doctors told her that a full recovery was unlikely, and that she would have limited use of her arm and leg.

But, doctors didn’t take into account Maggie’s unconquerable spirit and determination. Today, Maggie is healthy and lives a full life.  She spends her summers swooshing down snow covered slopes while working as an emergency nurse at a mountain ski camp.
